Xiaomi sub-brand, POCO, has officially announced its latest sub-flagship offering. The device has similar specs to its predecessor, albeit with a tad improvement in the camera. Perhaps, the POCO F4 5G focuses on camera improvement and fast charging as it debuts with the company’s first.
There wouldn’t be a big difference in performance between the POCO F3 and POCO F4 5G. Both feature the same Snapdragon 870 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM. However, there has been an improvement in the camera and battery performance of the POCO F4 5G
For the first time, POCO has equipped its device with an OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). Xiaomi POCO F4 features a 64MP 1/2″ sensor, which is another upgrade from the predecessor. It’s accompanied by an 8MP Ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors, while the selfie camera is a single 20MP shooter.
Although the battery is the same (4500mAh), the charging speed is now twice faster. With the 67W fast charging, you’ll get the device from 0-100 in under 40 minutes. Outside of the box, the device runs Android 12 on top of MIUI 13.
Same with the POCO F3, the POCO F4 5G display measures 6.67-inches diagonally. It’s an AMOLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling. The FullHD+ display has HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 1300nits peak brightness, and it’s protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood is Snapdragon 870 Octa-core processor paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Other features of the device include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dual Dolby Atmos speakers, X-axis linear motor, 10 5G bands, and Wi-Fi 6.
Xiaomi POCO F4 5G price and availability
The POCO F4 will be available in two memory configurations globally- 6/128GB and 8/256GB, starting at $399 and $449, respectively. The first official sale is scheduled for June 27 at official retail stores. There’ll be an early bird discount of $50.
Those in India will also grab the device starting from June 27. It’s available in that region in three configurations – 6/128GB for INR 28,000, 8/128GB for INR 30,000 and 12/256GB for INR 34,000. Also, there’ll be a discount of INR 4,000 on the first sales and that includes an INR 1,000 instant discount. It’ll be available in Moonlight Silver, Night Black, and Nebula Green.
POCO will give users that purchase the device on day 1, free two months of YouTube Premium and Disney Hotstar 1 year subscription. There’s a total of 2 years warranty (1-year default and 1-year extended) and up to 6 months of no-cost EMI.
