Xiaomi isn’t planning to announce a new phone without 5G connectivity in China, which is exactly why the Redmi Note 9-series didn’t make it to the Country. Yesterday, a report from Weibo claimed Qualcomm is about to introduce an entry-level 5G SoC, and with that, we expect to see a more affordable phone debut with 5G that will also sell in China. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is about to introduce a new device under the Redmi sub-brand, dubbed Redmi 10X.
According to early reports, Redmi 10X will feature Mediatek Dimensity 820 5G SoC. The device, which is due for unveiling on May 26, has been teased by Xiaomi on Weibo. From the teaser, the device will have an AMOLED display and will have the scanner beneath the screen. It also confirmed the device will be the first Xiaomi phone to run MIUI 12 outside the box. That’s with the video showing the super live wallpapers and the dynamic AOD, which are some of the features of MIUI 12.
Interestingly, the Xiaomi Redmi 10X will support dual 5G SIM. It’s the first time a device will offer two independent 5G connections, which takes the internet connectivity to a new level. With 5G active on both SIMs, users will have the chance to switch between two carriers seamlessly for the best experience.
Aside from the Dual 5G connectivity, the Redmi 10X has a slew of other amazing features. The camera will support up to 30x zoom, hinting at a possible 3x telephoto lens. Also, the official Redmi page on Weibo confirmed the 30x zoom and the OIS support for one of the cameras with a teaser.
The Xiaomi Redmi 10X no doubt will take exquisite shots, and according to Thomas Wang, the company’s executive, it will do just that in a single click. With that, there’ll be no need for a professional SLR camera or any manual adjustment. The Chipset will do all that, which the company believes will allow the users to ” express their creativity.”
Meanwhile, expect all that camera prowess to feature on the Xiaomi Redmi 10X Pro. Yes, there’s a Pro model, it’s already confirmed by the image released along with the teasers. Check the image below.
