Xiaomi has been rolling out the Android 14-based HyperOS update to premium and mid-range phones. Until now, no entry-level device has received the upgrade, not like we were expecting it, but Xiaomi has surprised the Redmi 12C users. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi 12C Android 14-based HyperOS update is limited to Mi Pilots.
Xiaomi Redmi 12C debuted in December last year with Android 12 based on MIUI 13. The device upgraded to Android 13 with MIUI 14 early in the year and now receiving Android 14 with HyperOS. It’s the first entry-level phone to receive the upgrade, but only the global users are getting the upgrade.
It is rolling out with a version number OS1.2.0.UCVMIXM and weighs 4.2GB. According to the changelog, there is a new animation language to make interaction with the device wholesome and intuitive, new Home icons, a redesigned weather app, new system fonts, a revamped control panel, and improved connectivity. Also, the update delivers the November 2023 security patch to increase system security and stability.
As usual, only select users are getting the Redmi 12C Android 14-based HyperOS update. It will take about two weeks for the OTA to arrive for everyone, but you can download the Recovery ROM using the link below. We recommend backing up your data before installing it and also make sure your bootloader is locked.
