Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi 13C. The device has been on the rumor mill for months with stores in Portugal seen selling the phone a few days ago. Regardless of your region, you can order the device as it has been released for the global market.
The Redmi series is a budget offering from the Xiaomi sub-brand. While the Chinese company has managed to keep the price down, they have improved the specs compared to the Redmi 12, which arrived last year.
Xiaomi Redmi 13 has a primary 108 MP camera. It is Samsung’s ISOCELL HM6 1/1.67” sensor with a 3x zoom. Like the primary sensor, the selfie shooter now uses a new lens, a 13 MP camera. Redmi 12 has an 8 MP selfie shooter and a primary 50 MP rear camera. Meanwhile, at the back of the Redmi 13, there’s a 2MP macro shooter.
Another area that has seen a massive improvement is the charging speed. The battery capacity is the same as the predecessor, 5030mAh, but the speed has almost doubled. Redmi 13 will charge at 33 W speed, and according to Xiaomi, will take 62 minutes for a full charge.
Under the hood, Xiaomi has gone for the Helio G91 Octa-core processor. It’s paired with up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM. Outside of the box, the device runs Android 14 based on HyperOS.
There’s a 6.79-inch LCD panel with 1080 x 2460p resolution. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 550 nits. The panel is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass glass, which helps in the IP53 rating. Other features of the device include an expandable storage of up to 1 TB with micro SD, a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Xiaomi Redmi 13 price and availability
Xiaomi Redmi 13 starts at $180 for the base 6/128 GB configuration. The device is available in Midnight Black, Sandy Gold, Pearl Pink, and Ocean Blue. You will get some discount when you order the device now up to $30.
