Xiaomi, through its sub-brand, announced the Redmi A3 in February 2024. The device is available in multiple regions, but the company kept working on the A3x. It has been officially announced and will be available in India and some international markets.
As you would imagine, it is an entry-level device, so you don’t expect great specs. Nevertheless, Xiaomi has managed to equip the device with some decent features. The display is a 6.71-inch 720 x 1650p LCD panel. It has a 500 nits peak brightness and supports a 90Hz refresh rate.
The panel has a thick bezel and a water drop notch for the selfie camera. It’s a 5MP shooter, while the primary camera has a 5MP lens. Redmi A3x retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood is the Unisoc T603 SoC paired with either 3GB RAM or 4GB RAM. There are two memory configurations: 64GB ROM and 128GB ROM. Outside of the box, the device runs Android 14 GO version. According to Xiaomi, the device will get two Android OS updates and three years of security patches.
There is a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W. We understand Xiaomi might be selling the power adapter separately in some regions. We recommend checking with your local retailer before purchasing the device.
Xiaomi Redmi A3x price and availability
Xiaomi is expected to price the Redmi A3x slightly above $60. It is available in Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Aurora Green. The device is already available in India and some global markets.
