The Xiaomi Redmi K60 series is finally official (at last) after we’ve had so many leaks in the past. Well, the unveiling of the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series took place at a big event and not only was the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series introduced, but also some other Xiaomi products. Let’s talk more about what the brand has integrated into the very amazing Xiaomi Redmi K60 series.
Further details on the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series
Of the newly released Xiaomi Redmi K60 series, there’s the vanilla version, Pro and the Redmi K60E.
Xiaomi Redmi K60 Pro
First off, it is worth noting that this smartphone is among the first set of smartphones to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The screen is a 6.67 inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution (which is another word for 3200 x 1440 Pixel resolution). According to the brand, the smartphone can reach a peak brightness of about 1400 nits. Furthermore, there’s Auto-Brightness 2.0 which automatically sets the brightness of the smartphone according to the needs of the user at that particular time.
The smartphone (just like most phones in the market currently) is equipped with a 120Hz screen refresh rate but with a whopping 480Hz touch sampling rate – a fingerprint scanner is also present in the display, somewhat like the Google Pixel 6a.
Redmi makes sure to brag about the new 50MP Sony IMX800 sensor( with OIS and EIS) that’s present in the rear camera setup of this smartphone. This main sensor is supported by the 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth sensor and of course, the 16MP selfie camera at the front.
The smartphone gets a 5000 mAh that is going to be charged with the 120W charger(which can take the smartphone from 0 to 100% in 19 minutes) – meanwhile, there’s the Surge P1 charging chip that protects the smartphone from any charging damage. Also, there’s the 30W wireless charging and a VC cooling section that spans 5000sqmm.
You can get the smartphone from December 31 via the China website for CNY 3299($475/€455) – 8/128GB – and CNY 4599 ($660,€620) – 16/512GB. Speaking of colours, you can either get Green, White, Black or the Championship Performance edition.
Xiaomi Redmi K60
This is the vanilla version of the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series but it’s not very regular in that it’s powered by the also impressive Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. This version and the Pro share some similarities starting from the display – it’s a 6.67 inch AMOLED display as well with 1440 pixel resolution. Then there’s the 5000sqmm cooling section and the 16MP selfie camera at the front being the other similarities.
The rear camera setup comprises three sensors, a 64MP main, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. Redmi K60 gets a 5500 mAh battery which will be charged with a 67W wired charger and 30W wireless. You can get the smartphone for CNY2,499 ($360/€335) – 8/128GB – and CNY3,599 ($515/€485) – 16/512GB – on December 31 via the same online store. You also get to choose from White, Green, Blue Leather, and Black with Carbon details on the sides.
Xiaomi Redmi K60E
The Redmi K60E is an efficient smartphone in the Xiaomi Redmi K60 series, although we’re yet to understand why the brand added an E to the name as this is the first. Well, it’s powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 – still an efficient chip – and it takes up the same 6.67 inch AMOLED display on the other variants, although with a 1200 nits peak brightness this time – you get a Coming Gorilla Victus protection on this display as well.
A triple camera setup comprises a 48MP main, 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP depth sensor. It’s the same battery on the Xiaomi Redmi K60 but with no wireless charging. A little downgrade will be the UFS 3.1 storage and the LP-DDR5 RAM instead of LP-DDR5X. You can get the 8/128GB variant of this smartphone in White, Black and Green colours for CNY2,199 ($315/€295) via the online store or third-party retailers.
