MIUI 12.5 has been around for close to three weeks now. So far, those with successful beta applications have been receiving the closed beta build, which arrived for the first time after the launch.
Xiaomi debuted the latest iteration of its MIUI on December 28, at an event that saw the unveiling of Mi 11. After the unveiling, the company released the rollout plan and list of eligible devices to participate in the closed beta test. According to a report, the company is now pushing the MIUI 12.5 development version to supported devices.
A total of 28 Xiaomi phones will receive the MIUI 12.5 development version. It’s an open beta build unlike the closed beta, which is limited to closed beta members. However, you’ll have to be running the Chinese ROM on your device before you can participate in the test. Also, your device has to be among the 28 supported devices that are listed below this post.
You can join the beta group for those running the Chinese app from the Updater App. Click on the three dots at the top right-hand side. It will reveal some options, select “Enroll in the beta testing program.” If you can find it, you should (Click on the MIUI logo untill you see “additional features are on). Follow the screen prompt to complete your registration, and if it’s successful, you will get a notification. However, before you proceed, make sure your device is in the list below.

With Xiaomi now pushing the development version for the open beta build, it won’t be long till the stable version starts seeding. From the official rollout plan, the first stable build will be ready in April. It will arrive for the Mi 11 and the Mi 10 series but might be sooner given the current speed.
