Xiaomi released Android 10 for Mi A2 Lite a couple of days ago. After a few hours, the update was called back because of so many reported bugs, and even some device got bricked. The company, however, released a statement acknowledging they’re aware of the problems and assured users of the phones that the bug will be fixed.
“Xiaomi is aware of the Android 10 update problems in Mi A2 Lite and the launch to users of said device has currently been suspended. Our teams are now working to resolve the issue and our goal is to implement an OTA update throughout March. Affected users are encouraged to bring their devices to Xiaomi authorized service centers for post-sale assistance.”

According to the statement, the company will work to roll out the update again this month. However, we don’t know how possible that could be, considering that Mi A3, which received the update first, is yet to get a permanent fix for all the reported bugs. But maybe, the COVID-19 outbreak is be the reason for the delay.
Meanwhile, there has been a new development. If you can recall, the update that brought Android 10 to Mi A2 Lite weighed 1089.5MB. This morning, a user posted an image on the Mi community forum claiming he received another update on his Mi A2 Lite.
According to him, he got the first update but didn’t update and later got a different size update. And like you would expect, after downloading the update, his phone bricked. The phone still shows the black lines under the display and won’t still boot.
It’s weird because Xiaomi called back the update and people still claims they’re getting a notification for the update. However, the bottom line is that you will brick your device if you download the update. We advise you to wait for official confirmation from Xiaomi before downloading any Android 10 for Mi A2 Lite.
