Few days after the Redmi 7A received a stable Android 10 update in China, Xiaomi has now released the Redmi Note 7 Pro Android 10 update as well. It’s expected that the update will arrive as a part of MIUI 12, but that seems not to be the case, especially with the Chinese models.
The update started arriving this morning with a build number – MIUI 11.0.1.0 QFHCNXM – and weighs in at 2.1GB. It’s arriving with an updated Android Security patch for May, alongside improved security and system optimization.

System
- Updated Android security patch to May 2020
- Improved system security
- Stable MIUI 11 based on MIUI 11
As of the time of this report, only the Chinese variants have started receiving the update, and as usual, it’s a staged update and will take some time before arriving on every compatible device. The arrival of the update also gives hope to the global users as with how Xiaomi rolls out an update – Chinese models first before the global variants.
There’s a possibility the Redmi Note 7 Pro Android 10 update will still come as a part of the MIUI 12 update for the Global users. However, nothing is certain yet, perhaps not with Xiaomi and updates. But with MIUI 12 expected to start arriving this month, we will know if Android 10 is part of it.
Quick specs overview of the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the device debuted with a 6.3-inch IPS panel. It runs Snapdragon 675 under the hood and on the software side is Android 9, but that has changed now. The camera is a dual 48MP and 2MP depth sensor while the front snapper is a 13MP shooter. Power is delivered from a 4000mAh battery and supports 18W quick charging.
