Xiaomi starts upgrading the Redmi 7 to Android 10 with the latest MIUI update, just a couple of weeks after the company confirmed the phone won’t receive the MIUI 12 update. According to the Chinese OEM, the device isn’t compatible with the update, which caused doubt if Xiaomi would ever update Redmi 7 to Android 10. The issue of whether Xiaomi will release the Redmi 7 Android 10 update got to one of the executives, who confirmed developers are checking if the device will receive a new OS upgrade. Well, it seems the check is over, and the device qualifies for the new OS update as Android 10 starts seeding.
At least, users of the Redmi 7 can rest easy as they didn’t lose out entirely. They have got the Android 10 update on a limited rollout, which is expected to start arriving for more users very soon.
