The Redmi 7, alongside the Redmi 6A and Redmi Y3, after some series of tests were delisted from the MIUI 12 update list. According to Xiaomi, the trio is not compatible with the update and would affect their performance. Because of that, the company suspended MIUI 12 for the phones. But surprisingly, a few months ago, the Chinese variant of Redmi 7 started receiving that MIUI 12 update. However, those running the global ROM haven’t seen anything yet, and now, a new update has been released.
The new global update for the Redmi 7 sans the MIUI 12 update once again. It could only push the Android security patch level to February 2021 and increased the security level. The update has a version number – MIUI 11.0.2.0 QFLMIXM – and weighs in at 570MB. But as usual, only a few selected users will receive the update, and if the preview is successful, the public rollout should commence in the coming days. However, if you don’t have the luxury of patience, you can download using the links below and flash via the Recovery method.
And for the Redmi 7 MIUI 12 update, it is still a doubt. The chance of the update arriving for the global model is there, but if Xiaomi has any plans, we should have known by now. Nevertheless, we are going to be watching, and hopefully, they’ll release the update for the global users very soon. Again, a new Redmi 7 update starts rolling out, sans the much-anticipated MIUI 12. It’s looking convincing that the device won’t receive the update globally. However, if you run the Indian stable ROM, a new update with build number – MIUI 11.0.4.0 QFKINXM – is available for download, here: Recovery | OTA (Apply from v11.0.3.0)
