Check below for latest releases…
Among Xiaomi mid-range offerings, only the Redmi 9 will receive MIUI 12.5 on the first wave. The update will start rolling out next month, and probably due to that reason, a new update for the Redmi 9 has been released for fortify the device. Also receiving an update is the Redmi 8, which has pushed the Android security patch level to the latest one to increase system security.
It’s been weeks since Xiaomi started pushing the March security patch update, and so far, a handful of phones have received the update already. The latest devices on the list are the Redmi 9 and Redmi 8, with the former expected to start receiving MIUI 12.5 very soon. Hence, if you own the device, there’s no better time to download the new update for the Redmi 9. However, it might take some time before appearing on your device due to OTA delays. Perhaps, the update could be on a limited rollout, and as such, will arrive for Mi Pilot only.
After a successful preview, which will last for a couple of days, the public will start receiving the new update for the Redmi 9 and Redmi 8. Users of the former will receive a stable MIUI 12.0.8.0 QCTINXM, while the latter will receive MIUI 12.0.2.0 QCNEUXM. The rollout is live in India and Europe, but we expect a wider rollout soon, and that will see it extend to other regions.
Meanwhile, you can check for the updates via System Update or use the links below to download and flash manually. However, it might return an error message because it is on a limited rollout or for now.
