Xiaomi started upgrading the Redmi Note 9S to MIUI 12.5 in Europe a couple of days ago. Yesterday, the update arrived for the Redmi Note 9 Pro in that region, making it seem they’re focusing on a particular market. But it was only a matter of time before the update extends to other regions, and now that it has arrived in Turkey, the global models will be next. However, the Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5 update in Turkey is a limited release and should be available for the public in the coming days.
The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJWTRXM – and weighs in at about 990MB. As expected, it brings features of the new MIUI OS. That includes an instant response to gestures, more rendering power, a new custom device model to improve performance, reduced power consumption, and background memory usage. The update has also made it possible to uninstall some system apps and has revamped the control center and notification panel UI.
It’s now possible to switch between the control center and notification center with a single swipe. Usually, you swipe from the top right to reveal the Control Center and the top left to show the notification panel. However, when you reveal either of the two, you can swipe left or right to show the other. And aside from the changes, the update has bumped the Android security patch level to August 2021 to increase system security and stability.
Again, the Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5 update in Turkey is a limited rollout. Also, we don’t know when the update will be available Globally, but that will happen soon, probably in the next few hours. Nevertheless, you can follow our tracker page to know when it becomes available.
