MIUI 12.5

[Update: May 25] Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5 update arrives in Europe

Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5 update now available for Global variants. Download below…

The long wait for Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5 update is over for those device users in Europe. We anticipated the rollout after a stable MIUI 12 based update started seeding a couple of days ago to fortify the device ahead of the current build. However, it’s a limited rollout to allow Mi Pilots to preview the build for bugs. That will probably take a few days, and in the end, if there’s no bug, the public will start getting the update almost immediately.

Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5 update

The Redmi Note 9S users have been anxiously waiting for the MIUI 12.5 update. Having seen entry-level devices like Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7 receive the update, it felt like Xiaomi has abandoned the device. However, it was only a matter of time, as most times, this build needs more polishing, and it seems to be the case with Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12.5. Nevertheless, the update is now rolling out in Europe and will arrive for other regions in the next couple of days

Xiaomi is seeding the update with a stable MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJWEUXM. It weighs in at 856MB. The update comes with the features of MIUI OS, which are improvements. It has addressed some problems left by MIUI 12.5, and with MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition about to start rolling out, it’s the perfect time to fortify the device ahead of the upgrade. However, some issues like the third-party launcher compatibility issue and the ugly square chat bubbles are still there. Hopefully, the next major rollout will address the issues.
