It has been a couple of weeks since the current iteration of MIUI – MIUI 13 was presented in China. The build started arriving of eligible users with Android 12, with the global release expected on January 26. But as usual, the global deployment has started, and surprisingly, it’s the mid-range phones that are receiving the update. And going by the latest report, the Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 JE Android 12-based MIUI 13 update is ready to start rolling out.
Xiaomi surprised everyone when it released the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update to the Redmi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro. Shortly after that release, the same build started seeding for global Mi 11 Lite 4G, while the more 5G variants are pushing a stable MIUI 12.5 based Android 11 build. It seems the premium phones will wait for the update, perhaps after the official unveiling before getting the update, as the report indicates that Xiaomi is prioritizing mid-range phones.
With the Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 JE Android 12-based MIUI 13 about to start seeding, it means Xiaomi is focusing on mid-range phones. Interestingly, these phones are receiving a new Android OS, given the supposed build numbers – MIUI 13.0.1.0 SKUMIXM and MIUI 13.0.1.0 SKRJPKD, respectively.
According to Xiaomiui, the Redmi 10 JE build is exclusive to Japan while the Redmi 10 will receive the same update in all regions, but on a different time frame. However, it’s unclear when the update will start hitting eligible but we anticipate an early release, probably in the coming days. The builds are ready, and hence, it will start seeding soon, and we recommend following our tracker page to stay updated.
