Xiaomi Mi A3 has started receiving the last guaranteed security patch update. The current rollout brings the July 2022 patch, which has been rolling out for Xiaomi and Redmi phones running MIUI on top of Android. And while these phones will receive the August patch, the same can’t be said for the Xiaomi Mi A3.
The Mi A3 debuted in July 2019, pre-installed with stock Android 9. It has since received two OS upgrades, Android 10 and 11, with the latter released in December 2020. According to Android one policy, that was the last OS upgrade. However, the device has been receiving security patch updates, but with the Mi A3 July 2022 security patch now rolling out, the device has just elapsed its three years of security support.
Hence, we recommend that you install the Xiaomi Mi A3 July 2022 security patch. At the time of writing, the update is available globally with version number V12.0.25.0 RFQMIXM. The European models are expected to receive the OTA in the coming days, which bumps the Android security patch level to July 2022 to increase system security and stability. As usual, there have been improvements and bug fixes.
