The successor to Apple’s A15 Bionic, the A16 Bionic chipset has been unveiled and it’s an epitome of the usual Apple reputation of releasing mind-blowing tech pieces. Interesting upgrades are bumping the performance in the A16 Bionic chipset, let’s take a look at its features.

Apple's A16 Bionic chipset officially announced

Details of Apple’s A16 Bionic chipset

First up, the A16 Bionic chipset is built on a 4-nanometer manufacturing process making it the first 4nm chip from Apple. Moving further, the chip is equipped with over 16 million transistors which explain the significant improvement we are in for with this chipset.

The chip is an octa-core CPU housing up to six high-performance and two efficiency cores with a core improvement of AI.  Compared to its predecessor, the A15 Bionic, the A16 Bionic chipset uses 30 percent less power and the brand mentioned that the chip makes use of one-third the power the competitor makes use of, although we don’t know which “competitor” Apple is talking about.

Debuting the chipset on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, means we’re surely getting better performance on the smartphones compared to the iPhone 13 series. Heavy workload should look so minor with the A16 Bionic chipset, thanks to the five GPU cores which are very efficient and the “50 per cent more memory bandwidth” alongside the 16-core neutral engine, an AI enhancement.

The AOD feature, Always On display, the brand mentioned before to come to the iPhone 14 series is a product of the chipset. Up to 2000 nits in brightness and 1Hz screen refresh rate plus the new display engine, these features combine to give the sleek AOD.

Well, the lower iPhone 14 series will be making use of the A15 Bionic chipset in the iPhone 13 higher series, so this means an upgrade in the regular iPhone 14 too. We’re in for a whole lot with the iPhone 14 series and the A16 Bionic Chipset is taking a huge part of the whole excitement.
