Apple seems to always have one or two tweaks to add to their upcoming iPhones to give them more aesthetic and functionality as well. I mean, we got the Dynamic Island from iPhone 14 and now, there are iPhone 15 Pro Solid-State buttons – a new feature that will be debuting on the iPhone 15 Pro first. We’ll be walking you through what it is and how it is going to work.
iPhone 15 Pro Solid-State buttons
Reports concerning the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max’s capacitive solid-state buttons have been circulating for several months, and a recent post on the MacRumors forums provides further information about how they will function.
The iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to include a unified volume button and a new programmable Action button from Apple. The latter will support the iPhone’s trademark mute switch functionality as well as a slew of other programmable features such as orientation lock, flashlight, low power mode, and more.
The iPhone 15 Pro series’ capacitive buttons will include a specialized low-energy microprocessor that will function even when the phone’s battery is depleted. The chip detects user pushes and hold motions and provides Taptic Engine feedback. Users will be able to adjust the sensitivity of the buttons via Settings, and they will be able to use phone covers and even gloves.
The new low-energy chip within the iPhone 15 Pro series will also power the NFC, Bluetooth LE, and UW chips even when the device is turned off and the phone battery is entirely depleted. The source for the most recent information on the iPhone 15 Pro solid-state buttons has a proven track record, having previously supplied correct information on the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island before its introduction.
