Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi, will look to add more users to the over 140 million people around the globe already using a Redmi Note phone. The company’s general manager announced on Weibo this morning that the company has sold over 140 million Redmi Note phones globally. Even with the latest milestone, the company isn’t planning on stopping. It’s believed that the company has devices in the works and will debut on November 26 in China.
Early reports alleged that Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G is going to arrive on November 24, but the date immediately dismissed when POCO confirmed it’s having a product launch on that particular day. And now, according to a report coming out of China, the device is finally arriving on November 26, which is exactly seven days from today. The report also claimed that a total of three Redmi Note 9 series phones are going to make their debut on that day. They are Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi Note 9 5G, and Redmi Note 9 5G Pro.
We already know a few specs of the 5G models, thanks to the TENAA listing, while the 4G model could be the rumored Redmi 10 4G. It’s still unclear how these phones will line-up, but we hope to find out in seven days, and that’s only if the launch date is correct.
As for pricing, the Redmi Note 9 5G series is said to be the most affordable 5G smartphone in the market. The regular model will start at 1,000 Yuan (~$152), while the Pro model could cost 1,500 Yuan (~$228). Of course, that’s not the official price, but we expect to find out after the launch.
There’s also a big chance the device makes it to the global market after the Chinese launch. It has been spotted on the IMDA website with recent reports saying it will debut as Redmi Note 9T and Redmi Note 9T Pro 5G. The 4G model is said to debut as a rebadged POCO M3 that will be launching on November 24. However, the company is yet to confirm any of these claims, but we hope to find out more in the coming days.
