It looks like Xiaomi is about to surprise everyone yet again as a new report hints at the arrival of MIUI 12.5. The company announced the current MIUI 12 skin a couple of months ago and has already started working on the next iteration, supposedly MIUI 13. Well, it seems that’s not the case as a report of MIUI 12.5 has emerged.
Shortly after the confirmation that Xiaomi won’t be upgrading the Redmi 7, among other three phones which were on the original list of MIUI 12 rollout, there’s now a report claiming that MIUI 12.5 is coming. We learned about the new development from the note usually released by the company alongside each MIUI 12 closed beta update.
According to the note released this time:

Features of MIUI 12.5
It’s still surprising how MIUI 12.5 just popped out of the blue. We don’t have any information as regards the features it’s going to introduce or whether it’s for those devices that won’t receive the MIUI 12 update. That’s unlikely, considering that close beta testing is going to be suspended for everyone from 12.14, which is the 14th of this month.
As for when the MIUI 12.5 update is going to start rolling out, there’s currently no ETA, but we hope to find out soon. A good guess should towards the end of this month, but we hope Xiaomi clarifies things very soon.
