Amid the reports that Redmi Note 8 will receive the stable MIUI 12 this month, the device is now getting a new stable update in Indonesia. It’s probably not what everyone was expecting (MIUI 12), but it’s an update that brings the monthly security fix and also prepares the device for a seamless transition to MIUI 12.
But the users of the popular Redmi Note 8 are increasingly getting frustrated over the inability of the company to rollout stable MIUI 12 update to the Redmi Note 8. Instead, the company has been busy releasing a stable MIUI 11 based security patch update, which is currently arriving for those units in Indonesia.
The update is coming as MIUI 11.0.7.0 PCOIDXM and weighs in at 174MB. It comes along with the September security patch update and has also improved system security while fixing bugs.
As usual, the update will take some time before appearing on all eligible phones, but while waiting for prompt notification, you can check System Updates or make use of the download links below.
As for when the global stable MIUI 12 update will be released for the global units, we still believe it to be this month. There are chances that we’ll see the update start arriving for some region this month. Meanwhile, if you’re running the Chinese ROM on your device, the MIUI 12 update, which came along with Android 10, is now ready for download, and you can flash via the Recovery method.
