Xiaomi has already rolled out Android 11 based MIUI 12 update to its premium smartphone of the year, which includes the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro/POCO F2 Pro. It’s also expected that in the future other phones in its stables will adopt the Android 11 based MIUI 12 update as well.
Before now, the company already announced it will be bringing Android 11 to the POCO X2, which is a rebadged Redmi K30. And going by a recent report, weekly MIUI 12 Beta build has been suspended for the latter. The reason being that the device is about to be inducted to Android 11.
Also, the likes of Redmi K20 and Mi CC9 Pro didn’t receive the MIUI 20.9.21 beta build because of the same reason. Therefore, the Xiaomi Mi 9T, which is the global version of the K20 is expected to receive the update as well as Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro – rebadged Mi CC9 Pro.
Unfortunately, there’s currently no information as to when Xiaomi will start rolling out the Android 11 based MIUI 12 update to these phones. However, the report has it that the internal testing has been initiated, and hence it won’t be much longer before the first MIUI 12 Beta build with Android 11 gets released.
It’s important to note that the Redmi K30, Mi CC9 Pro, and Redmi K20, are the only phones currently testing the Android 11 based MIUI 12 update. The reason being that only the Chinese model of Xiaomi phones can participate in closed beta testing. Other phones mentioned in this post are based on extension because they have the same development.
With that said, we will keep track of these phones and will update this space once they start receiving the Android 11 update. For now, you should check System Updates to see if there’s a new security patch update and fortify your device.
