Xiaomi once again is making the headline with the unveiling of Mi CC9 Pro. The device will first go on sale with a 108MP camera and first after Nokia 9 Pureview to feature Penta rear cameras. It runs Snapdragon 730G SoC with massive battery capacity. The AMOLED display has curved edges for the breathing life feature, and the price is what is even more interesting, it starts from 2,799 CNY ($399).

Design
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has a sleek design made of glass, with all the edges curved. At the front panel, there’s a waterdrop notch that houses the selfie snapper. The curved edges replace the LED light and are called “breathing life” It allows the phone to blink when there’s a new notification. Underneath the screen, is the new Ultrathin Optical in-display scanner.
At the back, there’s a Penta camera arrangement, assisted by a Dual-LED flashlight.
Display
Xiaomi Mi CC9 pro comes with an AMOLED 6.47-inch Display. It has all the edges curved and will deliver 1080 x 2340p Full HD+ resolution. The display, which boasts of 19.5:19 aspect ratio panel, offers 400000:1 contrast ratio, HDR 10+, DCI-P3, for accurate color representation, and 600nits brightness. The screen is certified by the German TUV Rheinland company, meaning the display filters harmful greenlight.
There’s what Xiaomi called “Breathing of Life” The features replace the LED light when you get a new notification, the edges of the device will start blinking.
Performance
It’s Snapdragon 730G that runs the Mi CC9 Pro, and this is what it means. The device is optimized for gaming and comes pre-loaded with Game Turbo 2.0, to enhance GPU performance during gaming. The SoC, which has two performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz, is coupled with 8GB RAM, for peak performance and multitasking.
Outside the box, the device runs Android 9 based on MIUI 11.
Camera
You might want to swap your Huawei Mate 30 Pro after seeing the camera performance of the Mi CC9 Pro. The device has a joint DOX mark score of 121 with the Mate 30 Pro, but 3x cheaper. The average score of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 pro is 130 points On photography test, and 102 points in the Video test.
Meanwhile, the camera arrangement from the top is a 5MP telephoto lens. It’s fitted with 4-axis OIS and supports 5x optical zoom, which goes up to 50x once hybrid zoom kicks in. The 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom comes after. The third lens is the primary 108MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture and 4-axis OIS. The sensor has an 8P lens (Premium Edition), while the 7P lens is available in the regular variant.
The F/1.7 8P lens, coupled with the 1/33″ sensor is going to take a smartphone camera to a new level. It will deliver super detailed images while the world is yet to see the performance on low-light. Next, is the 20MP ultra-wide lens, followed by a 2MP macro lens with a 1.5cm focal length. The arrangement has a Dual LED light placed by the side, and secured inside the front notch is a 32MP snapper.

With those insane features, there’s no doubt the Xiaomi CC9 Pro will be hungry for power. To take care of this, Xiaomi fitted the device with a huge 5260mAh battery. It supports 30W Quick Charge, which delivers a fully charged battery in 65 minutes.
Security
The Mi CC9 Pro uses Ultra-thin Optical in-display fingerprint scanner. It’s the first time a smartphone is featuring the tech. The fingerprint recognition area covers a larger part that even with a wet or very dry finger, you can successfully unlock your device.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro price and availability
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro price starts from $399 (CNY 2,799), for the 128GB 6GB RAM. $442 for the 128GB 8GB RAM option and $499 for the 256GB 8GB RAM variant. The device is available on pre-sale now while official sales start November 11.
The device will answer Mi Note 10 globally and will be available in Magic Green, Ice and Snow Aurora, and Phantom Black.
