Xiaomi has been sending out a stable MIUI based Android 11 update to some of its eligible phones for some time now. The Mi 10 series has already bagged the update including, the Redmi K30 series. And going by the latest report, the Android 11 update is coming to more Xiaomi phones.
Android 11 update is coming to more Xiaomi phones
According to Manu Kumar, Xiaomi Global VP, and MD Xiaomi India, the company is going to start rolling out the Android 11 update to more Mi and Redmi phones. He said that in the tweet below, but there’s no time frame as to when the update is going to start seeding. However, since the update is already available for Redmi Note 9 Pro, alongside other models, we expect a wider rollout to commence soon.
But as usual, once the Android 11 update starts coming to more Xiaomi phones, it’s going to arrive for limited users first for preview. It’s after the beta preview that a wider rollout will commence, and given that the Redmi Note 9 Pro has been testing the new Android OS, we expect more users to start adopting it very soon. The same is expected for other models that have received the update already and are currently in beta testing.
Meanwhile, to monitor the rollout, we have set up a tracker page for all Xiaomi phones that have received the Android 11 update. Therefore, to know when the update starts hitting more models, you should keep in touch with the tracker page here. However, some of the eligible phones might receive the Android 11 update with MIUI 12.5, which is expected to commence development next week. You can check here for eligible Xiaomi phones that are going to receive the MIUI 12.5 and possible features that’ll arrive with the update.
