Google has been working hard to meet its August release date for the stable Android 13 update. The tech company has released multiple beta updates to resolve reported issues. With the progress made so far, we might see Android 13 start seeding in the coming weeks. And like other OEMs, Xiaomi has been participating in the test and has just announced its recruiting Android 13-based MIUI beta testers.
Xiaomi started testing the Android 13 build officially on May 11 after the unveiling at the 2022 I/O event. The company provided stock builds for a handful of its phones, which should be installed via the fastboot method. And with Google expected to release the stable version in the coming weeks, the company is now bringing MIUI into the mix.
We are about to see the first Android 13-based MIUI build. The company is limiting the beta tests to only Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Also, only the device running Global ROM can participate.
Xiaomi Android 13-based MIUI beta testers’ requirements
- The device model must be Xiaomi 12 or 12 Pro running Global ROM (MI)
- Logged in with the same ID which is filled in the required form
- High tolerance for issues
- Ability to recover a dying phone
- Over 18 years of age
According to the company, each model only needs 200 testers and will be based on first-come, first-served. Users are advised to be willing to visit Xiaomi Service Center if their device won’t turn on after the upgrade.
Hence, before applying, it’s important to make sure there’s a service center close to you. Otherwise, wait for the stable version, which is expected towards the end of the year. For more details, check the source link.
