Apple iOS 16.4.1 update arrives to address issues and optimize performance

Apple was planning to release iOS 16.4.1 this week or next week. The tiny update was considered to have been created by Apple to eliminate several iOS issues. Fortunately, Apple did release iOS 16.4.1 on Friday.

Details on the Apple iOS 16.4.1

The update addresses several bugs, including one that prevented different “skin tone variants” of the pushing hands emoji from displaying on the screen. The update also resolves an issue that stopped Siri, Apple’s digital assistant, from answering in some situations.

Furthermore, iOS 16.4.1 fixes a few critical security flaws. According to Apple, it is aware of allegations that the two vulnerabilities were aggressively exploited. One dealt with an IOSurfaceAccelerator flaw that might have allowed an attacker to execute any code or run any command on the target device without the user’s awareness. The second bug repair addresses a vulnerability in Apple’s browser engine WebKit, which may similarly allow an attacker to execute instructions on a target’s phone.

The fault affecting the native iOS weather app and widget is not mentioned in the iOS 16.4.1 release. Apple’s System Status page indicates that the weather app is currently operational, yet there appear to be some complaints from iPhone customers who continue to report that the iOS weather app and widget are not displaying any data.

This issue may have been resolved by Apple without the need for the firm to publish a patch in iOS 16.4.1. The tech titan might have used a server-side upgrade. Go to Settings> General > Software Update on your iPhone to install iOS 16.4.1. Apple has already released the first beta version of iOS 16.5, which will allow Siri to record the screen of your iPhone if you ask her to.

You may record your screen in iOS 16.5 by enabling Siri and saying “Hey, Siri record my screen” or “Hey, Siri record screen.” There will be no countdown before the screen recording begins. To stop screen recording, say “Stop recording” to Siri. The Apple News+ app now has a sports page, thanks to the iOS 16.5 Beta. The iOS 16.5 upgrade is set to arrive next month.
