While companies like Samsung and Google started seeding the April 2022 security patch a couple of days ago, Xiaomi has just released the patch to its entry-level device. The April patch patched about 58 security and privacy vulnerabilities and has addressed the Dirt Pipe issue with some Google and Samsung phones. Of course, these fixes are part of the April security patch for Xiaomi phones, and you might receive the update in the coming days.

Xiaomi has waited till now to release the April security patch to the international models, as it has pushed the update to the Chinese closed beta groups. Interestingly, it’s the entry-level POCO M2 that’s receiving a new security patch, while premium phones are running the February patch. Also, the Mi A3 is yet to upgrade to the latest security patch, although we are optimistic the update will reach eligible units soon.

Meanwhile, the April security patch for Xiaomi phones is hitting the POCO M2 with a version number MIUI 12.5.6.0 RJRINXM. It bumps the Android security patch to April to increase system security and stability. Supposedly, the update has fortified the device ahead of planned future upgrades, which might include Android 12 and MIUI 13. We understand Xiaomi is testing MIUI 13 for the device, and we expect the public rollout soon.

A new update with the April security patch is rolling out to the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The duo is receiving a stable MIUI 13.0.7.0 SLCMIXM and MIUI 13.0.6.0 SLBMIXM, respectively. It bumps the Android security patch level to increase system security and stability.

More Xiaomi phones are picking up the April security patch update. The European model of the Redmi 9 and Redmi Note 9 in Turkey are getting a new stable update. It is seeding with a version number MIUI 12.5.5.0 RJCEUXM and MIUI 12.5.4.0 RJOTRXM, respectively. Xiaomi 12 and Redmi Note 9 have started receiving the April security patch update. They are getting a stable MIUI 13.0.16.0 SLCEUXM and MIUI 12.5.5.0 RJOIDXM, respectively. Xiaomi has released the April security patch update to the Mi A3 globally. The device is getting a stable V12.0.22.0 RFQMIXM update, which comes in a 10.84MB package. Check the full report here.
