Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 users are facing Bluetooth connectivity issues and Battery drain after enabling Google Assistant

After much anticipation, Google Assistant started seeding for Galaxy Watch 4 owners a couple of days ago. So far, a handful of users have enabled the feature, but it seems to have resulted in Bluetooth connectivity issues and battery drain for some.

Bluetooth connectivity issues and Battery drain

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classics have taken to Reddit to voice their frustration after enabling Google Assistant. According to multiple reports, there’s a Bluetooth connectivity issue that won’t allow users to repair their Watch 4 series to the phone.

Others report that their Watch isn’t listed as a device in the Wear app. All efforts to establish a connection didn’t work while the system suggested a factory reset. Of course, that can be difficult when you have to set your Samsung Pay and stuff again afterward.

There’s also an issue of high battery drain after the “Hey Google” hotword is enabled. That was expected, as Google mentioned that activating the hotword detection will increase battery drain. Hence, to restore your battery life to normal, you should disable “Hey Google” from Settings>>Google Assistant on your Watch.

Any permanent fix for the Battery drain and Bluetooth connectivity issues

The issue isn’t affecting everyone, at least the connection problems. However, wiping the Watch would solve the issue, but we recommend leaving out Google Assistant afterward. If you’re experiencing battery drain, disable the “Hey Google” from your Watch settings.
