Xiaomi already initiated Android 10 rollout for it’s Mi 9 Lite phones. The European units were first to get the update, which was later introduced to the Global variant. It is a staged rollout and will take some time before getting to all compatible devices, which is the reason some Mi 9 Lite users haven’t got the update yet. But we have provided a link to manually download and install Stable Android 10 on Mi 9 Lite.
The update is a global stable MIUI 11 based on Android 10. It comes with an updated android security patch for February, improved system security, and bug fixes. Also, you get the Widevine L1 support for HDR video playbacks on NETFLIX and lot of other optimizations.
However, there has been a reported bug said to be affecting the Gpay. A user after upgrading to Android 10 from Pie did a factory reset but can’t configure Google pay after that. Trying to configure the Gpay returns error message “system has been unlocked” From the error code, the user may have an unlocked bootloader. But then, it was a European user that complained of the bug and no cases have been reported by Global users.
Therefore, you can still go ahead to manually download and install Stable Android 10 on Mi 9 Lite. But note that we won’t be responsible for any damage flashing the ROM might cause to your device. We advise you to wait for OTA if you haven’t flashed MIUI ROM for the first time. Nevertheless, you can follow this guide and learn how to flash MIUI ROM: Fastboot and Recovery.
