POCO gained publicity back in 2018 with the unveiling of flagship killer Pocophone F1. The company has since added more affordable devices to its stables and has kept improving. They claim to be an independent brand but still depend so much on the parent company, Xiaomi, with most of the phones released last year, a rebadged Redmi phone. Their phones also run MIUI on top of Android, but with an extra flavor with the POCO launcher.
All POCO phones debut pre-installed with the POCO launcher. It’s a lightweight Android launcher that works on most Android phones. One of the features is the ability to group apps under different groups like entertainment, communication, tools, news & reading, and others. You can also create a new group and add your preferred apps to it.
Meanwhile, there’s a new POCO beta launcher rolling out now. It has a version number, V2.20.1.10, and weighs in at 36.4MB. The update has fixed some bugs, improved the performance and fluency of the launcher. But as the name suggests, “POCO Beta Launcher” has got some bugs. Most people are complaining of app icons overlapping, which was initially taken as a new feature. However, it seems to work fine on older phones, and the smoothness has improved.
Nevertheless, you can always uninstall the update or switch to a new launcher if you encounter such issues. And on this link, you can download the latest stable version of the POCO Launcher.
