Download closed beta MIUI 12 and Android 10 update for Redmi Note 8
It’s been months since the Redmi Note 8 was said to be in closed beta testing for the Android 10 update, which was the reason it didn’t participate in the early stages of MIUI 12 closed beta test. The device has since joined the closed beta testing, and have released multiple beta updates, which is based on Android 10. With that said, the MIUI 12 update will arrive with stable Android 10 for the Redmi Note 8, but the question has always been when?
The simple answer is that the update isn’t ready yet. It will start rolling out when it’s stable enough to serve as a daily driver. For now, only eligible beta testers have received both the MIUI 12 and Android 10 update, but there’s hope for the general public. Given that the closed beta testing has been smooth so far, it won’t be long until the update starts arriving for everyone. We expect the update to start arriving next month, at least, for the Chinese variant.
Meanwhile, if you can’t wait for the MIUI 12 and Android 10 update on your Redmi Note 8 any longer, you can download the closed beta ROM. However, you can only flash the ROM using TWRP Recovery. That’s probably a long shot, especially for the non-tech savvy, but you can follow this link on how to install MIUI 12 using TWRP Recovery on Xiaomi phones.
Note that the ROM is a Chinese version, and as such, it only supports Chinese and English language. Also, there’s won’t be Google Playstore where you download Google Apps and others. Nevertheless, if you decide to go along with the idea, here’s how to install Google Play services on Xiaomi phones.
