Step 1. Before you install TWRP Recovery on Xiaomi phones, you need to have an unlocked bootloader. Follow this guide and learn how to unlock the bootloader.
Step 2. Download this tool; follow this link here (download in your computer)
Step 3. Extract the tools to desktop, and you will see the below files
Step 4. Visit this link here and download recovery.img for your device
Step 5. Copy the recovery.img into the tool folder ( where you saved the downloaded tools)
Step 6. Power off your device and boot into fastboot. Press and hold the power + volume down button at the same time for a few seconds. Fastboot bunny will show on the screen
Step 7. Connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable [ make sure USB debugging is enabled, you can turn it on from settings > additional settings> developer option ]
Step 8. Navigate to the tool folder and press shift + right click on the mouse and you will see the ‘command prompt/ Powershell’, click to open the command window
Step 9. Type the following command ” fastboot device”, Check if your device is connected
Step 10. Type the following command ” fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”
Note: recovery.img is the name of the image file you downloaded in step four. If you ever rename it, remember to use the new name instead of recovery.img.
Step 12. At this stage, type the following command to go into TWRP mode ” fastboot recovery recovery.img”
