Google introduced its most advanced and sophisticated Google camera app with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The company had to revamp the User Interface to integrate the Material You Design, which is one of the notable features of Android 12. They also introduced more options for a better photo and video output. Unfortunately, the Google camera app is limited to devices running Android 12, and that’s why we are excited about the release of the Gcam 8.4 mod by Arnova.

It’s no news that the Google camera app is exclusive to Pixel phones, while the GCam mods work on other Android devices. Of course, that won’t be possible without the hard work of developers like BSG and Arnova. The former has released its Gcam 8.4 mod, which works on most Android phones. Interestingly, the latest Gcam app by Arnova seems to work on Android 11, 10, and Android Pie.

The Gcam 8.4 mod by Arnova is based on the recently released V8.4.300.414775575 of the Google camera app. According to the Google PlayStore listing, the app brings interesting features – Night Sight in Portrait and camera modes, Video stabilization modes, and New zoom buttons. Interestingly, you can get this feature on your older Pixel phones with the mod version of the camera app.

Like the first Gcam mod released by BSG, the current version is still in the beta phase. That said, the app won’t work on all devices, and you might experience bugs and glitches while running the app only on our device. Nevertheless, feedback shows the mod work on Snapdragon 700 and 800 series SOC running Android 10 and later. Also, it seems it has support for Exynos SOC according to the source page.
