[MIUI 12.0.5.0 PEMEUXM] Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G receives another update; sans Android OS upgrade

Xiaomi has been swiftly rolling out an Android 11 update for months now, and so far, over 15 phones have already bagged the update. We anticipate other eligible devices currently testing the update to receive it soon, but it doesn’t seem the Mi Mix 3 5G is on the company’s plan for a new Android OS. Things have taken a positive turn in the past months for the device after months without any support. However, it’s yet to be seen if Xiaomi will start making plans to upgrade the device to Android 10 or 11 as the device still runs the pre-installed OS (Android 9).

And while that development is unlikely, the company has just released the February security patch update for the Mi Mix 3 5G in Europe. The update is hitting eligible users with a version number – MIUI 12.0.4.0 PEMEUXM – and weighs in at 510MB. From the build number, the update is based on Android Pie but pushed the Android Security patch to February 2021. Hence, you should download and install the update when prompted to fortify your device and improve its security.

That said, you can scan for the update via the updater app (system updates) or make use of the download links. Meanwhile, concerning the MIUI 12.5 or a new Android OS for the Mi Mix 3 5G, there’s no information.
