Google is still testing the Android 14 QPR3 beta 1 update, but they have set their sight on Android 15. The tech company will release the first Android 15 Developer preview in the coming days ahead of the final release in Q4 2024.
According to reports, Google will release the first Android 15 Developer preview build on Thursday, February 15, 2024. It was in a comment posted to the Android Open Source Project yesterday by a Google developer. The upcoming OS is called Android V, which hints at the build’s internal sesser codename, Vanilla Ice Cream.
The Android 15 Developer preview will give us our first look at the features coming to Android later in the year. While we wait for the release, we already saw some features that might arrive with Android 15, which include Private Space. The feature will allow users to isolate some apps, locking them from appearing in the app list.
We understand you will want to try the Android 15 Developer preview when it becomes available, but remember it is less stable compared to beta builds. The update isn’t recommended as a daily driver, as it is meant for developers to test their apps and API. If you should install the update, we advise waiting for review before.
Hopefully, the build will be released tomorrow as expected, and we can see what Google is preparing for us. You can follow our social media platforms to know when the build becomes available and OEMs that will join that Android 15 Preview.
