Fitbit Charge 5 is a peg that fits into the hole of quality as well as the hole of portability. If you’re trying to get the best out of a smartwatch and you don’t want a full smartwatch occupying most of the wrist, then you can go for the Fitbit Charge 5. As good as this wearable is, some users have laid some complaints. There seem to be Fitbit Charge 5 disconnection issues with smartphones which most users have pointed out to be quite annoying.
A few threads seen on the Fitbit support forum show that the Fitbit Charge 5 disconnection issues are precisely the tracker disconnecting from users’ phones unexpectedly. A result of the Fitbit Charge 5 disconnection issues, that is the tracker, is the inability to sync history and live data to the Fitbit app.
Since the discovery of this issue on the smartwatch, it hasn’t been traced to any firmware exactly. Meanwhile, users have been facing this particular disconnection issue since January and it goes for both iOS and Android. Those who tried to either reboot or try other troubleshooting methods had little success.
A temporary fix for the Fitbit Charge 5 disconnection issues until the original fix arrives
Two members of 9to5google.com’s team tried using the Fitbit Charge 5 and didn’t experience the disconnection issues. However, a writer on the same site later found out about the Fitbit Charge 5 disconnection issues as it disconnected and refused to connect to his phone.
But this was “temporarily fixed” with a reboot but at the cost of some of his Fitbit data. Fortunately, sources have confirmed that Fitbit is planning on fixing this issue soon as this was confirmed by the Fitbit Forum moderator. We don’t know when the fix will arrive but we will keep an eye out for it, meanwhile, you can try rebooting your Fitbit Charge 5 but at the cost of your data.
