While the Android community are getting excited for the rollout of the OneUI 6 beta update based on the Android 14, some Samsung Galaxy phones will not be getting the Android 14 update – sadly.
Which Samsung Galaxy phones won’t get the Android 14 update?
Samsung increased their software support policy from two to three years, then outdid itself by committing to four major OS upgrades for select devices.
In brief, the Galaxy S21 series (including the S21 FE) and all subsequent S flagships are eligible for four OS updates. The same is true for the Galaxy A33, A53, A73, and subsequent versions. If you’re wondering whether your Galaxy phone or tablet will receive Android 14 and OneUI 6.0, here’s a list of devices that will not and will always run Android 13 and OneUI 5.
- Galaxy S10 Lite
- Galaxy S20 FE
- Galaxy S20/Galaxy S20+ / Galaxy S20 Ultra
- Galaxy Note 10 Lite Galaxy Note 20/Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Flip (LTE/5G)
- Galaxy Z Fold 2
- Galaxy A22 (LTE/5G)
- Galaxy A32 (LTE/5G)
- Galaxy A51
- Galaxy A71
- Galaxy Tab A8
- Galaxy Tab A7 Lite
- Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020)
- Galaxy Tab S7 / Galaxy Tab S7+
These Samsung smartphones will not receive Android 14 and One UI 6.0, although they will continue to receive security fixes for the foreseeable future. If your smartphone runs an OS version older than Android 13 and is not on the list, it will not obtain Android 14. Meanwhile, we’re still unclear of when the OneUI 6 beta update will be landing on Samsung Galaxy smartphones but the Samsung Galaxy S23 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be the first in line for the update.
