Google completed the Android 14 Developer preview before rolling out a beta build to registered Pixel users. The company is looking to reach platform stability in July, with a stable Android 14 update expected to roll out in August. Xiaomi is now joining the beta test, but exclusive to the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 12T.
Xiaomi started internal testing for Android 14 a couple of days ago in China. The Chinese company has extended the preview to the global models of its phones as expected. Only the flagship Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, alongside the Xiaomi 12T users, can install the build.
The Global Android 14 beta update for Xiaomi phones is exclusively for developers. It’s based on the Android 14 beta 1 update that arrived for registered Pixel users a few weeks ago. We don’t recommend installing the build on your device that serves as a daily driver.
Also, it’s a fastboot build, meaning installing it will wipe all data on your device. It’s important to back up your data before proceeding with the installation. Interestingly, the company has provided a guide if you want to revert.

For now, only three Xiaomi phones are participating in the test. We hope to see other phones join the beta phase too. And note the build is a stock Android and you have to flash using the fastboot method.
