Finally, Xiaomi starts pushing the Global Mi 10T and 10T Pro MIUI 12.5 update. It was the European models that first received the update after that Chinese release. Shortly it was released in India and has since made its way to Indonesia. That was surprising as the global variants were waiting all this while. However, it seems the cause of the delay has been rectified. The update is now seeding for select users to preview for bugs before it will be released for the public.
With MIUI 13 supposedly arriving in August, Xiaomi will try to finalize the MIUI 12.5 rollout. The company is now pushing the update to the global variants of the Mi 10T / 10T Pro. The update has improved performance and fixed some of the bugs introduced by MIUI 12. According to the update log, power consumption and background memory usage has been reduced. Also, the response to gestures has improved, and it is now instant. There’s 20x more rendering power while the Android security patch level has been pushed to June 2021 to increase system security.
However, the global Mi 10T and 10T Pro MIUI 12.5 update didn’t address the third-party launcher issue. Also, the ugly square chat bubbles are still there, but hopefully, an update arrives in the future to address it. It has also been reported that after that upgrading, some users experience lag and battery drain. As for the latter, you should give the device time to adjust after upgrading and if the lag is much, try to perform a factory reset.
Again, the update is available for limited users. It will take some time to arrive for everyone. But if you have an authorized Mi Beta account or TWRP recovery installed, you can download it via the links below.
