Finally, Xiaomi starts pushing the global POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update. It has been weeks since the update arrived in Europe but only started seeding for the Global variants. And when you realize that the Redmi K30 Pro, the Chinese version, received the update months ago leaves you wondering. However, it’s a single MIUI 12.5 build for the Redmi K30 Pro/ POCO F2 Pro, while the international version has a different ROM version for each region. That’s probably the cause of the delay, but you can now install the global POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update.
Meanwhile, the rollout is limited and would arrive for select users only for preview. The preview is expected to last for a couple of days. After that, the public will start receiving the update. However, you can download and install the build if you have an authorized Mi Beta account or TWRP recovery installed. Otherwise, wait for the MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJKMIXM update to arrive in a 1.0GB package.
The update brings the features of the new MIUI OS to improve optimization and address bugs. It has improved gesture response time, revamped the Note app, and enhanced the system fluidity. Aside from the features, the update has bumped the Android security patch level to June 2021 to increase system security. There’s a stable MIUI based Android 11 as part of the package for those yet to receive the new Android OS.
It’s unclear when the update will become available for everyone, but hopefully in the coming days. But do know that the third-party launcher compatibility issue persists, so no need for reverting to check that out. We hope Xiaomi fixes that soon, though.
