With Xiaomi rolling out the Enhanced Edition of the MIUI 12.5 in China, we expect the final lap MIUI 12.5 deployment in the next few weeks. Although the Redmi 8 has received the update, there are few regions yet to receive the build, and the global users are part of that. But as expected, the global Redmi 8 MIUI 12.5 update has been released. As usual, only a few selected users are getting the update pending the outcome of the preview.
The public release of the global Redmi 8 MIUI 12.5 update will be available in the coming days. It will arrive with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QCNMIXM. Coming with the update are features of the new MIUI OS. They include instant response to gestures, a new custom device model, more rendering power, reduced power consumption and background memory usage, revamped Note App, and more.
Interestingly, the update has revamped the Notification and Control Center panel. Notification now appears in a separate bar, and it’s much convenient to reply to messages without opening the app. Also, you can switch between the control and notification center with a left and right swipe. The volume rocker UI has a new look while new system sounds have been introduced.
And while that update has improved performance, animation, and battery backup, it revoked permission for all apps. Launching any app will ask for permission while uploading images using Chrome to the internet seems isn’t working. Nevertheless, the improvements are there to be seen, and you should upgrade when prompted.

The stable MIUI 12.5 has arrived in Russia for the Redmi 8. It is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QCNRUXM. Of course, it is based on Android 10 but the build has bumped the Android security patch level to July 2021 to increase system security and stability.
