As expected, Xiaomi has now released the global Redmi Note 10 MIUI 12.5 update. The device has been due for a new patch build, but given that a new version of MIUI is on the horizon, it was delayed. That means the MIUI 12.5 update is seeding with the latest security patch to fix security vulnerabilities while introducing the features of the new MIUI OS. But as usual, it’s a limited rollout and would take some time before it gets to your device.
The Global Redmi Note 10 MIUI 12.5 update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RKGMIXM – and weighs 487MB. It comes with features of the new MIUI OS. They include instant response to gestures, 20x more rendering power, custom device adjustment, optimization. With that, MIUI is supposedly faster, smoother, and lighter while the Note App has been revamped. Also, after upgrading to MIUI 12.5, you would be able to uninstall some system apps.
Meanwhile, the update has failed to address the third-party launcher compatibility issue and ugly square chat bubbles. It’s yet to be reported if the update has enabled second space by default, which can only be activated via a third-party app. Nevertheless, the update is safe, and you should install it when prompted.
Again, the global Redmi Note 10 MIUI 12.5 update is on a limited rollout. You can successfully install via the Recovery method with an authorized Mi Beta Account. Luckily, those among the recently released list can install the update, and you can check for your Mi ID here. Other than that, you should wait for the update to arrive via OTA in the coming days.
