It’s been two months since the Redmi Note 9 Pro Android 11 update was first released. The rollout was exclusive to Indians, and a couple of days ago, a fresh Android 11 build was released in that region while the global units got only a patch build. Surprisingly, the company started pushing a stable MIUI 12 based Android 11 update to the Note 9S a few days after, but as usual, it’s a limited rollout. However, going by the recent report, the global Redmi Note 9 Pro Android 11 update will arrive for more users this month.
For starters, the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9S are the same. Both phones have the same design and development, but depending on the region, you’ll get either a Note 9 Pro or a Note 9S. They’re eligible for the Android 11 update, having debuted with Android 10 on top of MIUI 11. It’ll also receive the MIUI 12.5 update, and you can register to become a beta tester via this link. However, we expect to see a wider rollout of the global Redmi Note 9 Pro Android 11 update before the latest MIUI Custom Skin.
According to a Moderator in the Mi Community forum, a beta stable Android 11 update is expected for the Redmi Note 9 Pro this month. However, there’s no particular date as to when we can expect the update, but we hope more users start getting the update soon. And as for the MIUI 12.5 update, the update will certainly be coming to the Redmi Note 9-series. Unfortunately, we don’t know when the update will start rolling out, but we hope to learn about that and more after the launch event on February 8.
Meanwhile, to keep track of all the MIUI 12.5 related news, you should follow our tracker page. We’ll also update the page with all the Xiaomi phones that have, and will receive the update after the unveiling.
