Two weeks ago, a stable MIUI 12 update was released for the Mi Mix 3 units in China, which is naturally how the company rolls out major updates. After the Chinese rollout is completed, other regions will then start receiving the update, and most of the time, the global variants are first in line. The update has a firmware version number, ‘MIUI 12.0.1.0 QEEMIXM’. It’s coming in an 897MB package, along with all the features of MIUI 12. Of course, if you experience lags “scrolling around or in launcher between apps,” then you can consider factory reset, but that should be after backing up your files.
As for when you’ll receive the global stable MIUI 12 update for Mi Mix 3, it should be in a few days. However, it can take up to weeks, depending on the outcome of the beta preview. And acording to a Moderator in the Mi forum, the update is currently on the beta phase.
