The global version of Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 starts receiving stable MIUI 12 alongside Android 10

Finally, Xiaomi has now officially released the stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 globally. The update, as expected, is seeding alongside Android 10 and will take some time to appear on all eligible phones. 

The last couple of months has been so frustrating for Redmi Note 8 users on the global channel of MIUI. There was a bit of hope when the update started arriving on the Chinese model, but that came crushing when the Note 8T bagged the update instead. Alvin Tse, Xiaomi executive, didn’t help matters when he alleged the update will start arriving next month, saying the build needs optimization.

Well, the global stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 is now official. The update started arriving this morning with a build number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCOMIXM and weighs in at 2.1GB. Surprisingly, the changelog didn’t include any other changes aside from the new security patch build for September and the much anticipated Android 10. Nevertheless, after installing the update, you will get all the features of MIUI 12.

Going by the changelog, the update is still a stable beta build. As such, only selected users will receive the update, and with their feedback, it will be made available for more users.
