Google Play System update for January 2024 is now available for Samsung phones

Google started rolling out the January 2024 Play System update a few days ago but didn’t complete the rollout due to a bug, which has now been fixed. The update is currently rolling out for eligible Pixel phones, while Samsung phones are also getting the update.

The Google System update for January 2024 brought some improvements and bug fixes. It updates the system management services that improve device Connectivity, Network usage, security, stability, and updatability. Also, bug fixes for system Management & Diagnostics related services. Aside from the changes on the changelog, there are other improvements under the hood. We recommend installing the update as it improves the performance of the Android system. It comes in a 70 MB package on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and depending on your device, you might get a higher or lower package size.

Most Samsung phones have been on the November 1, 2023, Google Play System update. With the new release, your device will move to January 1, 2024. To install the update on your Samsung phone, head to Settings>>Security and privacy>>Updates>>Google Play system update. After downloading the update, reboot your device to complete the installation.
