Here’s How to Control Other Devices with iPhone

  • Go to the “Settings” app on your phone and select “Accessibility.”
  • Once in “Accessibility,” choose “Control Nearby Devices.”
  • Next, tap “Control Nearby Devices” again to begin searching for nearby devices.
  • Your phone will automatically start searching for devices using the same iCloud account. When a device is detected, its name will immediately appear on your phone.
  • Select the name of the device you want to control. A menu will appear on your phone, providing you with a selection of commands that you can use to control the second device.
  • On the second device, you will see a quick pop-up indicating that it is now connected to the first device.
  • To navigate on the second device, tap the square in a circle icon to go to the home screen, the two overlapping rectangular icons to open the App Switcher, the bell icon to open the pull-down Notification Center, or the two horizontal stadium shapes to pull up the Control Center menu.
  • To activate Siri on the second device, tap the Siri icon.
  • Finally, the last icon, which features a circle with three dots inside, pulls up a menu with additional controls for things like play/pause, previous track, next track, and volume up and down.

Wrapping It Up

Controlling other devices on your iPhone is one of the recent updates seen in iOS 16. By following the steps outlined above, you can control a nearby device that is using the same iCloud account and have access to a range of commands and controls.
