How to root Xiaomi Mi 10T/Pro using magisk

Android remains undefeated because of its open-source system. It allows OEMs and even individuals to tweak and customize their phones with custom ROMs. However, why smartphone makers can easily bake extra features using their in-house Android skin, individuals need to gain root access. Xiaomi released the Mi 10T and 10T Pro a couple of weeks ago. Both devices are powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the software side is MIUI 12 Android skin on top of Android 10, which by rooting your Xiaomi Mi 10T/Pro, you’re going to gain root access to customize your device and install custom ROMs.

How to root Xiaomi Mi 10T/Pro using magisk

Before you can root your Mi 10T device, first download the Magisk file. Also, the Bootloader needs to be unlocked, and TWRP Recovery flashed on the device. Luckily, we have covered all that in this post; how to unlock Bootloader and how to flash TWRP Recovery on Mi 10T/Pro.

Process of rooting

  • Download the Magisk zip file from here and move to the device
  • Boot your device into TWRP Recovery. Switched the device off, then press and hold the power + volume up buttons
  • Select the install option and locate the folder where you moved the Magisk file and click on it to select
  • Swipe the arrow on the bottom to flash the Magisk file
  • On completion, you should click on Reboot System
  • After the phone has booted successfully, the next thing is to install Magisk.apk, and that’s it.
