One of the interesting features that was integrated into the latest iPhone 14 series has to be the AOD, Always On Display – although this is a feature present in some Android phones currently. However, Apple claims to lower the refresh rate to about 1Hz on the iPhone 14 Pro Always On Display thereby preserving battery life. Well, we can’t know if the iPhone 14 Pro Always On Display is taking a toll on your battery life till you test it, here are the results from a test.

Sources carried out an iPhone 14 Pro Always On Display battery drain test since the brand didn’t give an estimated battery consumption power of this feature. Before you proceed, here are the conditions in which the iPhone 14 Pro was tested.

  • 8-hour interval (9 am to 5 pm)
  • The iPhone 14 Pro was devoid of any sim during the test period
  • The phone wasn’t used at all during the test period
  • The active apps were lessened to just one social media app.
  • The control experiment is the usage of the smartphone all through the day without AOD.

The result of the iPhone 14 Pro Always On Display battery drain test shows that only 6 percent was taken out of the battery level after an 8-hour AOD span. In the control experiment, the phone remained at 100 percent battery level all through the day without the AOD. Well, what can we say? It seems the brand has optimized the AOD to not take a toll on the battery life, quite interesting.

Well, this feature was tested on the Pro, we guess the Pro Max will perform better since it gets a higher amount of battery. Meanwhile, there’s something unique about the iPhone 14 Pro Always On Display you have to know. You can dim the lock screen wallpaper paper while in AOD, so you don’t get distracted by it.

The feature is integrated into the Focus mode section and you can enable it by Settings>Focus and then toggle on the Focused. Then proceed to Options > Lock screen and then Toggle on the Dim Lock Screen mode. For other tips on the AOD, you can visit the link at the end of this article.
