[Available in Europe] July security patch update for Mi A3 released

The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite recently received their last security patch update leaving the Mi A3 as the only Android One device with active security update support. According to the Android One policy, the device still has some months left to receive a monthly security patch.And as expected, the July security patch update for Mi A3 has been released. It’s currently seeding to the global units and will soon extend to other regions. 

Xiaomi has since suspended the Android One program, probably due to bugs that have plagued the device for some time. That leaves the Mi A3 as the only active device in the series, launched in July of 2019. However, the device has elapsed its OS support, having received two Android OS: Android 10 and 11, but it will continue to receive monthly security patches for another year.

As usual, the July security patch update for Mi A3 is seeding to global units. The update is arriving on eligible units with a version number – V12.0.12.0 RFQMIXM – and weighs in at 44.20MB. It has bumped the Android security patch level to July 2021 to increase system security and optimize performance.

At the time of this writing, we couldn’t find out if the recent build has addressed any problem left by the Android 11 update. However, it’s safe. You should download and install when prompted to fix Android vulnerabilities. Also, improve your device security to make it more secure and fresher. We expect the European models to start receiving the update in the coming days, but for the Global models, you can download them via the link below.
